The Government of Ghana wants to raise more revenue domestically, which is indicative of the recent aggressive approach by the Ghana Revenue Authority. At the back of the increasing cases of complicated back tax bills from the GRA and the prevailing economic conditions, the American Chamber of Commerce, Ghana, is scheduled to host the 2023 AmCham Ghana Economic Forum.

Speakers’ presentations will focus on how businesses can navigate the current revenue mobilization strategies by the Ghana Revenue Authority, share experiences of dealing with this predicament, and what companies can do when burdened with unrealistic tax bills.

Participants will also be briefed on the new tax regime, the proposed amendments to the Excise Duty rates, and their impact on businesses.

Other focus areas of the forum include providing an understanding of the impending IMF program, the complexities of the government’s Domestic Debt Exchange Program, and the proposed haircuts on investments and their effects on the business environment, as well as a general overview of the country’s 2023 economic outlook.
