AmCham Ghana and ABC Nigeria to Collaborate More on Trade and Investment Issues

On January 18, 2021, the President of the Chamber, Ayesha Bedwei, and the Executive Secretary, Simon Madjie, engaged in a virtual meeting with the CEO of the American Business Council Nigeria, Margaret Olele, for a discussion on enhancing collaboration between the two organizations to advance the interest of member companies and bolster the influence of AmChams across the region.

Among the issues discussed was the implementation of AfCFTA and enhancing the ease of doing business for member companies within the new trade area.

The executives also touched on other trade and investment issues within the sub-region and collaborating to elevate trade discussions to cover the entire region rather than some individual countries. Also discussed were the issues of inclusion and empowerment, and establishing a potential work plan on vaccines for U.S companies in West Africa.
