The WAPSCON19 platform was built upon experiences gained during the 2014-16 Ebola crisis. It is
supported by the private sector, governments and global institutions across West Africa and the
continent. Involved institutions include the World Economic Forum, the WHO, the Africa CDC and the
African Union. It provides a non-partisan, multi-affiliation knowledge sharing forum that is the basis
for mobilization. The West Africa platform started in early March as the confirmation of COVID-19
cases began in Africa. The Ghana Chapter was initiated in early April.
