WELCOME ON BOARD! AFS Intercultural Exchange Programs Ghana

AmCham Ghana is pleased to welcome AFS Intercultural Exchange Programs Ghana as our newest member company. We are excited to build a collaborative and impactful partnership, and we look forward to working together to advance shared goals and strengthen cross-cultural connections.

AFS Intercultural Exchange Programs, Ghana, established in 1967, is part of a global nonprofit network dedicated to creating transformative intercultural learning opportunities. AFS traces its roots to 1914, when it began as the American Field Service, a volunteer ambulance corps that served courageously during World Wars I and II. After the wars, AFS volunteers transformed their legacy of service into a mission of peace, building understanding and friendships across cultures through student and community exchange programs.
Mission & Values

AFS is committed to fostering intercultural understanding as a means to build a more just and peaceful world. Guided by values of respect, inclusion, service, learning, and responsibility, AFS empowers young people and communities to become active global citizens. Its programs develop leadership, cultural sensitivity, and global competence, equipping participants to create positive change in their communities and beyond.
Global & Local Impact

With over 60 partner countries worldwide, AFS continues to provide opportunities for high school students, young adults, and volunteers to immerse themselves in new cultures, broaden their perspectives, and strengthen international cooperation. In Ghana, AFS has proudly maintained uninterrupted operations since 1967, offering transformative experiences that contribute to national development and global connectedness.
