AmCham Ghana Joins Africa Real Estate Conference & Expo to Discuss Sustainable Growth and Innovation

On Wednesday, June 18th, AmCham Ghana had the opportunity to take part in the Africa Real Estate Conference & Expo, hosted by the Ghana Real Estate Professionals Association (GREPA) under the theme: “Unlocking Africa’s Potential for Sustainable Growth.”

Held at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra, the event brought together a vibrant mix of voices, industry leaders, developers, government officials, and innovators, who are all playing a role in shaping the future of real estate across Africa.

One of the key highlights was a powerful address from Hon. Gizella Tetteh-Agbotui, Deputy Minister for Works and Housing. She spoke about the importance of fully rolling out Ghana’s Real Estate Agency Act and the value of adapting tried and tested international frameworks, like the U.S. model, to fit Ghana’s unique needs and realities.

A particularly exciting moment came from our Platinum Member, Zipline, represented by Country Director Daniel Marfo. He shared how Zipline’s drone technology, originally developed to deliver life-saving medical supplies like blood, is now opening up new possibilities for infrastructure and urban development. Ghana, after Rwanda, is one of the first countries in the world to use this innovation at scale, and it’s already showing promise in supporting smarter real estate planning and service delivery.

During the event, our acting executive secretary, Jane Okyere-Aduachie, shared brief remarks on the Chamber’s ongoing commitment to strengthening U.S.-Ghana trade and investment. She highlighted the importance of real estate as a key pillar of economic growth and emphasized AMCHAM’s role as a bridge between American investors and Ghana’s growing sectors.

The event also featured an engaging fireside chat, where panelists dove into key topics such as

  • Making land ownership and registration more accessible and secure

  • Financing infrastructure projects and enabling digital real estate transactions

  • Using technology and data to plan better, more livable cities

For AMCHAM Ghana, it was an energizing reminder of how collaboration between the public and private sectors can drive real, sustainable progress. We’re proud to be part of these conversations, and even more excited about what lies ahead for Ghana’s real estate space.
