Earlier today, Thursday, August 13, 2026, Alberta Nana Akyaa Akosia and Ken Schilz, Co-Founders of the Ghana-Nebraska Agribusiness, Growth and Trade Chamber, paid a courtesy visit to the American Chamber of Commerce, Ghana (AmCham Ghana) Secretariat, where they were received by Chief Executive Officer Doris Afanyedey. The visit offered valuable insight into the Chamber’s work fostering agribusiness ties between Ghana and Nebraska over the past two decades, and opened the door for meaningful discussions on potential areas of collaboration.
Conversations centred on opportunities across the agricultural value chain, including livestock and poultry processing, byproduct utilisation such as rice husk and straw for animal feed, and investment prospects in cashew, rice, and large-scale plantation development. Both parties also discussed avenues for closer institutional collaboration, including joint roundtables and member engagement, as well as continued support for Ghana-Nebraska delegation exchanges. AmCham Ghana looks forward to strengthening this partnership in the interest of advancing agribusiness trade and investment between Ghana and the United States.
