Burn Design Hub Joins AmCham Ghana

AmCham Ghana welcomes Burn Design Hub as our newest NGO member. Burn Design is a nonprofit organization headquartered in the United States, with a country office in Ghana. The organization is deeply committed to addressing the global issue of unsafe cooking practices that affect over two billion people. In many developing communities, women cook over open fires—often indoors—putting themselves and their families at risk of toxic smoke inhalation. This daily struggle not only endangers their health but also consumes time and energy that could be spent on education, work, or rest.

Through innovation and collaboration, Burn Design Lab is working to change this reality. They focus on designing and supporting the production of cleaner, more efficient cookstoves tailored to the needs of women who rely on open fires for cooking. By partnering with manufacturers, they help scale the production of environmentally conscious stoves, aiming to improve health, reduce hardship, and enhance the quality of life for countless families. Their impact is measured by the number of households reached and the tangible improvements in women’s health, wellbeing, and economic opportunities. AmCham Ghana looks forward to supporting Burn Design Hub’s mission and amplifying their impact across the region.
