On Monday, August 31, 2026, AmCham Ghana, led by our CEO, Doris Afanyedey, attended today’s signing of the Joint Venture Agreement between the AfCFTA Secretariat and Quest, launching the AfCFTA Digital Trade Corridor, the first continental initiative of its kind, at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel, Accra.
H.E. Wamkele Mene, Secretary-General of the AfCFTA Secretariat, called it a shift “from policy, from talk, to action,” pointing to IFC projections that Africa’s digital economy could reach $712 billion by 2035. The corridor, headquartered in the Seychelles, will track cross-border digital trade under AfCFTA rules, backed by over $51 million in mobilised private-sector investment.
For U.S. and Ghanaian businesses, it’s a development worth watching as continental digital trade infrastructure takes shape.
