A delegation from the U.S. Embassy in Accra paid a working visit to the American Chamber of Commerce in Ghana (AmCham Ghana) on Tuesday, 6th October 2026. The delegation was led by the Economic Counselor, Mr. Andy Winkelman and  the Senior Commercial Counselor, Ms. Rachel Kreiss . They were received by the Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Doris Afanyedey, and the team at the Secretariat.

The meeting was an opportunity for the Embassy and the Chamber to exchange perspectives on promoting trade and investment between the United States and Ghana. Discussions focused on improving Ghana’s business enabling environment, structured stakeholder engagement in policy processes, and opportunities for businesses under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Mrs. Afanyedey shared feedback from the recent U.S.–Ghana Presidential Roundtable held in New York on the sidelines of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA81). She also briefed the delegation on the Chamber’s other recent engagements with government and private sector stakeholders.

Both parties agreed to collaborate on identifying investment opportunities for U.S. companies across priority sectors. They also agreed to organise information sessions to keep the business community informed.
